Celebrating a Successful GOoD Works Blitz

GOoD Works, along with volunteers from Lake Murray Presbyterian Chruch and others throughout the Chapin community, conducted a four-day blitz in the Chapin area June 23 through June 26.  With involvement of 60-80 per day, a total of seven projects were successfully completed.  These projects consisted of making needed repairs to the HUB, fixing an unsafe porch, and repairing an addition to a home that had extensive water damage. Also, volunteers replaced a leaky roof on a families’ home, repaired their floors, and provided floor coverings.  Other projects included installing underpinning and building a porch on a home that GOoD Works had recently provided for a needy family.  Thanks to the hard work and dedication of these volunteers, GOoD Works was able to make a difference in the lives of our neighbors.

We thank you for donating your time, resources, and assisting in making this week for GOoD Works a great success. Without the constant help and support from our neighbors, GOoD Works would not be able to accomplish its goal of helping the needy in our community.  We look forward to more blitz weeks this summer and in the future, and welcome your group, church, or organization to participate as well! Please contact us at 345.2030 or come by the office at 118 Saint Peters Church Road to learn of more volunteer opportunities.  God bless!

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25:40

Blitz 2014

GOoD Works, in conjunction with Lake Murray Presbyterian Church, will be conducting a four-day blitz in the Chapin area.  Starting Monday, June 23, through Thursday, June 26, volunteers will be working on six home repair projects.  Some of the work to be done in these homes include building porches, replacing windows, painting, and repairing floors and roofs.  If you would like to volunteer, whether it is one day or all four days of the blitz, please call us at 345.2030 or just show up at 8:00 a.m. at our office at 118 Saint Peters Church Road.  All of the community is welcome and encouraged to participate. Help from all skill levels, including eager helpers and learners, would be greatly appreciated!  If you are interested in donating to this ministry, please call us at 345.2030.

Won’t you join us in this opportunity to serve the needy families in our area? “But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things He has done for you.”  1 Samuel 12.24. You will be blessed!

GOoD Works will have Blitzes going on with several organizations throughout the summer, and would welcome your group, church, or organization to participate as well!
